Volunteer Matrix does not own or hold your data hostage. It's your data, and we want to help you to have full access to your data at all times.

• We provide you with excellent export tools so that you can import into a local database if desired.
• We can set up multiple export templates for you for different uses or departments.
• The system keeps track of what has already been exported to avoid exporting again.
• Updated records since the last export can be included or not.
• We have a "synchronize" tool so that you can update our system with your local databases record IDs so that all imports of data from our system always end up on the right records.
• Your Volunteer Matrix database is backed up 2x weekly, and each is stored in a separate location. You have online access to the source SQL tables backup from one of the weekly exports. Although this SQL backup is not useful to humans since it's in almost 30 separate tables, it can easily be used to rebuild your database on our system if the need ever arises (never has so far).
