Donating Materials
Donation guidelines are strict. Appliances must be complete and in 100% working order. Dishwashers must be less than 5 years old, and all other appliances less than 7. Other items must be in good shape, and in useable sizes. For example, plywood and sheetrock must be at least 4x4 ft.; lumber in full lengths, etc. For details on the guidelines, see below.
Your contributions are welcome . . . and needed. Pickup of items is available, and every donation helps toward providing adequate housing to those in need.
Completely volunteer staffed, the ReStore is at 108 Centre Street. To make a donation, drop it by the store, or call the ReStore at (207) 386-5087 to arrange for pickup. The ReStore is open 8:30am-4:00pm Wed-Fri and 8:00am-Noon Sat. | Appliances |
| We accept appliances 7 years old or less, must be clean and in 100% working order with no missing parts. We will test them when they are brought in and if they do not work, will not accept them. Please include owners manuals if you have them, as they add value to your donation. |
| Cabinets & Countertops |
| We will take cabinets and countertops. Cabinets must be in complete units. They must have doors, shelving, display racks, etc. |
| Doors |
| We accept doors if they are in GOOD condition only. They must not have holes, cracks, rot, etc. |
| Electrical |
| We accept lighting fixtures, receptacle boxes, switches, outlets, wire, plugs, plates and the hardware associated with electrical wiring. |
| Fans |
| We accept fans if complete and in working condition. |
| Flooring material |
| We will accept tile (10 sq. ft. min.), wood, laminate, area rugs, and new carpet remnants (100 sq. ft. min.). |
| Furniture |
| We accept used furniture in good condition (no stains or smell). |
| Hardware |
| We accept almost all types of hardware for doors, cabinets, etc. |

| We accept lumber and trim (4 ft. length min.). We also accept plywood and sheetrock (4x4 ft. min.) in good condition. |
| Mirror • Glass |
| We accept framed mirrors only (NO glass). |
| Paint • Wallcoverings |
| We will take full, unopened containers of paint and stain. We cannot take toxic, hazardous substances, (i.e. pesticides, powders, paint thinners, or other chemicals). Wallpaper is taken in full-unopened rolls. |
| Plumblng • TUBS • SINKS • SHOWERS |
| We accept tubs, sinks, showers, and vanities in good condition and clean. |
| Roofing Material • Gutters • Canales |
| We accept rolled roofing and bundles of new shingles. We also accept roofing gutter/canale materials that are in full pieces and are not rusty, bent up or damaged. |
| Siding |
| We accept wood and vinyl siding/accessories. |
| Tools |
| We accept all hand and power tools in working condition. |
| Windows • Screens |
| We accept double or triple pane windows. If casement type, we appreciate having the hardware and cranks. |
